In college I majored in Public Relations and Marketing and minored in International Business. Because of my GPA and position as the honor society president at my college, I was able to take advantage of several unique opportunities to forge ties with international students, colleges, charities, and more.

It wasn't long before I started looking for opportunities to build my career abroad. Soon I was given the chance to work as a freelance travel writer, lifestyle news writer/reporter for the English section of the largest newspaper in Africa. My first editor was Jailan Halawi, a former CNN foreign correspondent and talented teacher. She gave me a very firm foundation in which to build a career upon.

As a new writer, I learned to target demographic groups while simultaneously growing readership with entertaining creative copy. With time I worked my way into a more responsible role, and learned to do formal and technical writing. I've traveled quite a lot, learning and gaining experience in a number of different writing styles with content pertaining to a multitude of topics and genres. I've learned and polished the skills necessary for writing for different types of publications e.g. newspapers, hard copy magazines, online publications, social media, video publishing scripts, blogs, text books, reviews and critiques, instruction manuals, web copy, etc.

Some of my career highlights include working in the capacity of an international business and marketing consultant and editor for the Aga Khan Charity Network's Hand Crafts Section, a researcher and writer for the Austin Post, an SEO writer for XWebSEO, as well as donating articles to small startups like the Salem News.

I returned home to the USA, where I have used my experiences and education to teach talented interns about SEO writing. Public relations firms, e-commerce sites, blogs, business owners, pharmaceutical companies and more often contact me for repeat assignments, of which I am always happy to fulfill. Occasionally, I accept ghost-writing assignments, and am happy to sign a NDA document if it is required or requested.
